Safety is more than repairing broken equipment or placing warning devices on critical areas of the workplace. It is an important issue that can be a matter of life and death. As such, it is imperative for all organizations to know and understand the basics, as well as the international best practices, on Organizational Health and Safety (OHS).
This one-day program utilizes the guidelines of the OHSAS 18001 standard, which has just been updated this year to include the requirements of ISO 14001:2004. Aside from a basic overview on how to implement an effective occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS), the course also teaches participants how to improve their current occupational health and safety management practices, document an OHSAS 18001:2007 system, and integrate them with their quality and environmental management systems.
At the end of the training, participants are expected to:
• Have an in-depth understanding of the concepts, benefits and requirements of an OHSMS
• Provide their organizations with the elements of an effective OH&S management system
• Integrate OHS with other management systems
